💡 WHAT I DID:
Solo Composition & Production: Hired for a "more musical, non-trendy" Afrobeat perspective. I managed all composition, arrangement, recording, mixing, and mastering while guiding the artist through the real-time production process.

✅ MY CREATIVE CHOICES:
The core design alternates two low-end roles: a punchy 808 anchors the verses, while a midrange-forward synth bass is played in a melodic, "fingered bass guitar" style for the energetic choruses. The second chorus high-energy repetition introduces a legato synth arpeggio to create tension that propels the song into the next section, complemented by a recurring, "talking" marimba melody.

🎚️ MY TECHNICAL CHOICES:
The Kick and 808 were layered using inverse transient processing (maximized 808 sustain for body, maximized Kick attack for punch). The 808 was kept mono, but its sub frequencies were stereo-widened below 50Hz for a controlled "rattle." The melodic synth bass was kept mono and sculpted with EQ/saturation to ensure midrange visibility. Tonal stability was achieved using serial and parallel processing (including multi-stage EQ), with two-stage selective sidechaining as the final step for vocal presence.
